Physician Profile

When I was seven years old, I saw a woman with a neurodegenerative disease struggling to eat at a fast food restaurant. That day I promised myself that I would work to help people like her when I grew up. I chose to work specifically in pediatric neurology because I love kids. I am so fortunate to work with kids everyday as they are so much fun and can brighten even a “bad” day. I enjoy helping families translate complicated medical issues into an “everyday” life they can live. It is so important for me to listen to these families and my patients because they alone know the real issues they are facing. A family may be less interested in the pathophysiology of a disease and more interested in how a patient can function in daily activities with his/her diagnosis. If so, that is the most important issue to address. My husband and I love the mountains and enjoy this region’s outdoor activities and access to so many resources without the crushing aspect of a big city. We love sporting events, hiking, gardening and road trips. I am active in my church and would love to coach a kids’ softball team in the future.
